Default What are The Charr Bridgeguards Guarding?

In Pre, Northlands (across the wall)

Past the Ritual site with the bosses, There is a Bridge with a open door, guarded by some charrs (its the most northen of the bridges)

However if you get close to them, the gate closes

It seems like the area can be explored behind the gates

However the gate gets closed quite quick, Despite this I think it is a challenge to beat.

Have anyone gotten past these mysterius doors?

Interesting - what speed skills are available pre-searing?

Of course if you can get within range to cast that you could probably kill them just as easily, so I doubt that is the answer.

I think that door is just there to taunt people. I don't think anyone has or can get past it.

Another idea:

Sometimes when my network connection has had issues (extreme lag, dropped connection) I have been able to run ahead on the map without otherwise interacting with the environment. I have run through zone transition points this way. Perhaps something similar could be done there. If you are *really* curious and a bit technically savvy, you could set the QoS on your router to arrange for yourself to have really bad latency...

are you talking about the door where you hit the lever and it opens, but you can't get through the door in time? That quest is to get someone to party with you, they get the lever, you go through the gate, you both spawn behind the wall, and kill, kill, kill--or lead the guy out back to his friend.

No that is the entrance *TO* the Northlands. He is refering to a door *IN* the Northlands.

This sounds like a mystery that needs solving. Please, tell us what you find out!

That probably wouldn't give you much time to explore and the door, even when open, is still probably coded to be a wall. Even if you could go back there it would just be like going past the Charr on the Great Northern Wall mission, a little extra bit of an empty area. A nice place for a screenshot, but nothing special.
